How to Shape Vital Presets for Dark Motion
Vital gets dark fast. The trick is keeping movement and weight without turning the preset sharp or messy.
1. Start with one strong harmonic shape
Pick one oscillator that already carries the tone. Do not stack too much too early. If the base is right, the rest can stay light.
2. Use motion on one layer only
Let one modulation lane move the sound. Keep the second layer stable. This makes the preset feel alive without sounding random.
3. Darken before you widen
Get the tone right first. Pull some top end, keep the mids controlled, then open the stereo image if it still needs space. Width before tone usually makes dark presets feel weaker.
The main idea is simple: one tonal core, one controlled movement layer, and less brightness than you think.
